LUSH NATURE AND COFFEE ROUTES

This is Western Ethiopia. A wild and undulating land whose loamy fertile soils, nourished by a plentiful rainfall throughout the year, support highland rainforest, swampy jungle and moist savannah. Natural home of the arabica coffee bean, origin of the world’s favourite hot brew, and still the region’s main export crop. An underpublicised wildlife-lover’s paradise, where colobus monkeys swing though roadside trees, elephants and buffalos lurk in forest glades, and an alluring bird checklist includes many forest endemics along with the spectacular shoebill and Egyptian plover.
